Defining Real World Limits with Calculus

 In TELI Diary

If you are new to calculus, you will probably ask the question, why should we learn calculus at all? In fact, mathematicians have been using calculus in areas including physics, engineering, economics, statistics, and medicine to construct the world we are living in now. Calculus has been involving in world changing projects like the search engines, weather models, improvements in public health, and architecture.

Speaking of the use of calculus in our everyday life, it gathers insights by calculating possibilities logically and precisely to define the limits in the real world in order to get optimal solutions. In the upcoming mathematics MOOC, Professor Tsang, Kai Man will lead us to dive into the fascinating world of mathematics by explaining “Limits and Continuity” in calculus.
