Understanding Postmodernism through Postmodernist films

 In TELI Diary

Postmodernist films often carry typical portrayals of gender, race, class, genre, and time. Without us realising it, such hyperreality as defined by media culture is gradually blurring the boundaries of reality and the hyperreality.

Over the centuries, the media industry has also created huge impact on blurring high and low culture. In this week’s HK Cinema MOOC round-up recording, Professor Gina Marchetti and Assistant Professor Magnan-Park compares “Infernal Affairs” to “The Killer” to guide learners to have a deeper understanding in Postmodernism.
